Indoor Kids Play Center In Wethersfield To Close: Owner

WETHERSFIELD, CT — Romp n' Roll Wethersfield, a children's activity center that has operated in town for 12 years, will close this weekend, its owner announced.

Owner Meredith Myers announced the closure on social media, saying circumstances involving the business's lease made it necessary to shut down.

"Unfortunately, circumstances surrounding our lease have made it necessary for me to close the business," she wrote. "This is not the ending I would have chosen, and saying goodbye is incredibly bittersweet."

The business has operated since 2014, offering children's classes, birthday parties, camps and special events.

Myers described the business as a place where families celebrated childhood milestones and formed friendships over more than a decade.

"Since 2014, Romp n' Roll has been so much more than a business," she wrote. "It has been a place filled with laughter, music, play, friendships, birthday celebrations, first steps, growing smiles, and so many unforgettable childhood milestones."

She thanked families for bringing their children to the center over the years and said she had watched some children grow from babies into toddlers and preschoolers.

"Thank you for trusting me and my team with your children," Myers wrote. "It has been an absolute honor."

While the announcement said the business will close its doors as of Aug. 31, Myers said its final day will be Sunday, Aug. 30.

She said the staff hopes to make the remaining days memorable for families before closing.

"Thank you, from the very bottom of my heart, for an incredible 12 years," Myers wrote.
