Wethersfield Police Charge Enfield Man In 2025 Motel 6 Armed Robbery

WETHERSFIELD, CT — An Enfield man has been arrested in connection with a 2025 armed robbery at a Wethersfield motel in which two masked suspects allegedly assaulted a clerk and stole cash and personal property, police said.

Wethersfield police said Francisco Perez, 45, of Enfield, was identified as a suspect following an investigation by the department's detective division.

Perez was arrested by warrant Tuesday, Sept. 22, and charged with first-degree kidnapping with a firearm, first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, first-degree assault and first-degree larceny, according to police.

He was held on $500,000 bond and was scheduled to appear Wednesday, Sept. 23, in New Britain Superior Court.

The charges stem from an armed robbery reported at about 10:16 p.m. July 27, 2025, at the Motel 6 at 1341 Silas Deane Highway.

Police said two suspects entered the motel lobby, vaulted over the front counter, and demanded cash from a clerk.

The suspects then allegedly forced the clerk at gunpoint into a rear employee office, where the clerk was assaulted.

The suspects stole the clerk's cellphone and wristwatch along with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.

The clerk suffered minor injuries but declined medical treatment.

Police said both suspects were masked, dressed in dark clothing, and armed with handguns.

Investigators said the suspects fled in a white 2017 Hyundai Elantra bearing Connecticut registration AZ09385, which had previously been reported stolen from Hartford.

Police did not announce an arrest of the second suspect in Tuesday's update.
