The Wilton Police Department will host a Tip-A-Cop event Wednesday, Aug. 19 from 5-9 p.m. at Outback Steakhouse at 14 Danbury Rd, Wilton to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut. During the event, law enforcement officers volunteer their time to work with restaurant employees to welcome customers, take orders, and serve meals to diners.

Enjoy a summer evening exploring The Glass House at your own pace! During your&nbsp;self-guided visit&nbsp;to the campus, you will have free access to the&nbsp;Glass House, Brick House, Painting Gallery, and Sculpture Gallery.
On view this year in the Painting Gallery&nbsp;is&nbsp;Tomashi Jackson and Robert Rauschenberg: The Catch One. Featuring newly commissioned paintings by Jackson in dialogue with works by Rauschenberg from the historic site’s permanent collection and the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, the exhibition contributes to a global slate of 2025–26 initiatives that reexamine Rauschenberg’s legacy, honoring his expansive creativity, spirit of curiosity, and commitment to change.
In the Sculpture Gallery,&nbsp;encounter&nbsp;the large-scale works by artists including John Chamberlain, Bruce Nauman, and Frank Stella that were collected by Philip Johnson and David Whitney.
Our expert educators will be available across the site to provide information and answer questions.

Working for the Revolution: Patriot Women’s Lives During the War
Thursday, August 20, 7:00pm - 8:00pm
Join us on Thursday, August 20th at 7:00 pm for a presentation by professor emerita and publisher Kathy Hermes. The talk will explore how women contributed to the American Revolutionary effort politically, economically, intellectually, and even militarily. Using original sources like newspapers, court records, letters, and pension records, Dr. Hermes will show how Indigenous, Anglo-European, and African-descended women all helped to further the Patriot cause. 
Katherine Hermes is the publisher and executive director of Connecticut Explored magazine, a non-profit history publication produced for readers interested in Connecticut’s past. She is professor emerita of history at Central Connecticut State University, where she taught Early American history for 25 years. She has created and been involved with a number of digital public history projects, including Forgotten Voices of the Revolutionary War: People of Color and the Redding Encampment, 1778-1779. 
The talk will be held on Thursday, August 20th at the Wilton Historical Society at 7:00 pm.
The event is free for Historical Society members. For non-members, there is a $10.00 fee.
