Wilton Congregational Church (WCC) will launch its 2026–27 Second Hour speaker series on Sunday, October 4, with a presentation by Brian Stiltner, Ph.D., Professor of Theology and Religious Studies at Sacred Heart University.
Second Hour will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in WCC’s Upper Meeting Room, following the church’s regular worship service. The program is open to the entire community, and attendees do not need to be members of WCC.
Throughout the upcoming program year, WCC will welcome a series of speakers to explore current issues through a Christian perspective. Topics will include bioethics, artificial intelligence, economic systems, food insecurity, the housing crisis, and other issues affecting individuals and communities today.
Stiltner, who serves as Co-director of the Hersher Institute for Applied Ethics at Sacred Heart University, is a scholar and author whose work focuses on Christian ethics in public life. He has written numerous books and articles on the subject, including his forthcoming book, Faith in Community: Practices That Strengthen Churches and Neighborhoods.
The October 4 conversation will offer an opportunity for members of the community to consider how faith, ethics and public life intersect and to engage with questions that extend beyond the walls of the church.
