Former Wilton Police Chief Dies At 91
He led the department for 17 years after a career in law enforcement and military service.

WILTON, CT — Former Wilton Police Chief Angelo A. Toscano, who led the department for 17 years, has died at the age of 91, the Wilton Police Department announced Thursday.
Toscano served as Wilton’s chief of police from 1983 to 2000, becoming the department’s second chief following its official organization in 1969.
Before joining the Wilton Police Department, Toscano served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956 and later rose to the rank of captain with the Darien Police Department, where he served from 1957 to 1983, according to police.

“His life was defined by service to his country, to his community, and to the profession of law enforcement,” the department said in a statement.
Police said Toscano’s legacy remains a lasting part of the department’s history, noting that his impact continues even after the agency moved from the headquarters where he served.
