How Wilton Voted In Tuesday's CT Primary Elections

WILTON, CT — Wilton voters backed Gov. Ned Lamont by a wide margin in Tuesday's Democratic gubernatorial primary while also favoring Michael Goldstein in the Republican primary for Connecticut's 4th Congressional District, according to preliminary results from the Wilton Registrar's Office.

Lamont received 771 votes in Wilton, compared with 211 for state Rep. Josh Elliott, according to the preliminary results. That gave Lamont about 79 percent of the Democratic gubernatorial primary vote cast in town.

Lamont also won statewide, securing the Democratic nomination as he seeks a third term as governor. He will face Republican state Sen. Ryan Fazio in the November general election.

Wilton Republicans also overwhelmingly backed Goldstein in the 4th Congressional District primary. Goldstein received 199 votes in town, compared with 52 for Daniel Miressi, giving him about 79 percent of the local vote.

Goldstein also won the Republican nomination districtwide Tuesday and will challenge Democratic U.S. Rep. Jim Himes in November.

The November contest will be a rematch between Goldstein and Himes. Goldstein challenged Himes in 2024 but lost the general election. Himes has represented the 4th Congressional District since 2009.

The 4th Congressional District covers much of southwestern Connecticut, including Wilton, Stamford, Greenwich, Norwalk, Westport and several surrounding communities.

Tuesday's Wilton totals remain preliminary, according to the Registrar's Office.
