Storms Bring Road Closures, Downed Trees Across Wilton Overnight: Here's Where

Several Wilton roads were closed or blocked Wednesday night into Thursday as crews responded to downed trees and wires.

WILTON, CT — Multiple roads in Wilton were closed or partially blocked Wednesday night into Thursday morning as crews responded to storm-related damage across town.

According to the Wilton Police Department’s storm response tracker, several roads were reported closed, blocked or impacted by downed trees and wires during windy conditions Wednesday evening.

Among the roads listed as closed were Ruscoe Road near Ridgefield Road, Signal Hill Road near Ridgefield Road, Hulda Hill Road near Olmstead Hill Road and Vista Road near Linden Tree Road.

Other roads, including Ridgefield Road, Mather Street, Millstone Road and Bald Hill Road, were reported as blocked due to storm debris or downed trees, according to the tracker.

Some of the affected roads may remain closed or partially blocked Thursday morning as crews continue cleanup efforts.

Police reminded residents to avoid downed wires and call 911 for emergencies. Authorities said all wires on the ground should be treated as live.

The tracker showed most incidents were reported between about 8:55 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. during windy weather conditions.

Officials had not released information Thursday morning about injuries or major damage connected to the storm response.
