Windsor Residents, Mail Carriers Unite For Food Drive This Weekend: How To Help

WINDSOR, CT — Windsor residents are being asked to participate in a nationwide food drive this Saturday, May 9, as part of the National Association of Letter Carriers’ annual “Stamp Out Hunger” campaign.

Locally, all food collected by letter carriers will be donated to the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank, which distributes groceries to residents in need.

Residents can take part by leaving a bag of nonperishable food items near their mailbox before regular mail delivery on Saturday.

Letter carriers will collect the donations along their routes.

Volunteers from the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank will then gather the items from postal workers and transport them to the organization’s pantry for sorting and distribution.

The one-day drive is part of a coordinated national effort to address food insecurity, with Windsor organizers emphasizing the importance of community participation.

No additional steps are required for donors beyond placing items by their mailboxes, organizers said, encouraging broad participation from local households.
