How East Windsor, Windsor Locks Schools Fared In New Ranking

EAST WINDSOR-WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — Neither East Windsor nor Windsor Locks made Connecticut’s top 50 school districts in newly released rankings from education website Niche.

Windsor Locks received a C-plus overall grade in the 2027 report, while East Windsor earned a C.

Both districts placed among Connecticut’s 25 most diverse school districts on a separate Niche list. East Windsor ranked No. 22 statewide, while Windsor Locks finished at No. 25. East Windsor also ranked No. 8 for diversity among districts in the Hartford area.

The diversity rankings are separate from Niche’s overall school district ratings. They consider student demographics and feedback from students and parents about the district’s culture and diversity.

Niche released the rankings Sept. 28. Its overall ratings combine school statistics, federal and state data, and reviews from students, parents and teachers. Factors include academics, graduation rates, college readiness and teacher quality.

For the 2027 rankings, Niche updated its public school assessment data to draw from state sources rather than federal sources, which the company said provides more current measures of academic performance.

Westport ranked first in Connecticut, followed by Greenwich, New Canaan, Ridgefield and Darien.
