Puppy Found In Dumpster In East Windsor: Police
East Windsor police are asking for tips after a puppy was found injured, abandoned and wrapped in a garbage bag.
EAST WINDSOR, CT β East Windsor police have opened a criminal investigation after an injured puppy was found abandoned inside a dumpster, wrapped in a garbage bag, according to police.
The puppy, estimated to be about 13 weeks old, was discovered in East Windsor and later nicknamed βOscarβ by the department, police said.
Oscar was taken to an emergency veterinary hospital after being found. Police said he suffered significant injuries and will require eye surgery, with the possibility of additional surgery on one of his legs.

After consulting with veterinary staff, officials said the decision was made to do everything possible to save Oscarβs life. His medical expenses are expected to exceed $5,000, according to police.
Donations for Oscarβs care may be dropped off or mailed to the East Windsor Police Department. Police said all contributions will go toward Oscarβs medical care and recovery.

Police are also asking the public for help with the investigation. Anyone with information about Oscar or who may have owned him is asked to contact Animal Control Officer Wentworth through the East Windsor Communications Center at 860-292-8240.
