Christina’s Community Carnivals Return
Kick Off the School Year with Unforgettable Family Fun & Community Spirit!
The Christina School District is excited to invite students, families, and the entire community to the 2nd Annual Christina Carnivals! As we start the 2026-2027 school year, we want to continue building strong community connections and kick off the new year with fun, laughter, and great memories. Best of all, admission is free.
“We’re making this year even bigger and better,” said Christina School District Superintendent Dr. Deirdra Aikens. “These carnivals show our ongoing commitment to bringing our schools, families, and community partners together, building stronger connections, and celebrating the amazing diversity and spirit of our Christina School District family. Together, we are creating a stronger, brighter future for everyone.”
The carnivals will take place on Saturday, August 15, from noon to 4 p.m. at Glasgow High School, and on Wednesday, August 19, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Bayard School.

This year’s carnivals have something for everyone, including fun games, tasty food, bounce houses, inflatables, community resource tables, and much more. Don’t miss out—bring your family and friends to join the fun!
Schools will open for the new school year on Monday, August 31 for grades 1 to 6 and 9, and for grades K-12 at the Brennen School/DAP, Delaware School for the Deaf, and REACH. All students in grades K-12 will attend on Tuesday, September 1. Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten students will start school on Tuesday, September 7, as schools will be closed on Monday, September 6, in observance of Labor Day.
