Share Your Thoughts - Security Resource Officer (SRO) Community Survey

The Christina School District is seeking feedback from our students, staff, families, and community members about School Resource Officers.

The Christina School District is seeking feedback from our students, staff, families, and community members about School Resource Officers (SROs) in school buildings. As part of our comprehensive approach to school safety and security, Christina contracts with the Delaware State Police, Newark Police Department, and Wilmington Police Department and also employs Constables.

What are SROs? A School Resource Officer (SRO) is a sworn law enforcement officer assigned to work in partnership with a school community. Depending on district policies and school needs, SROs may support school safety and emergency preparedness, build positive relationships with students, provide education on safety and legal topics, and collaborate with school staff and community partners. Their responsibilities may vary by district.

We value your input on this important topic. Your responses will help the Board of Education better understand community perspectives as it considers future decisions regarding school safety. Responses are anonymous and will be reported only in summary form.
