And itβs, unfortunately, a common occurrence, the organization wrote. βI donβt know why we get surprised. Every year, the week of Thanksgiving or even on the day of, morning employees or volunteers find a dog tied to or thrown over our fence. Every single year and this was just like all the years prior.β
The dog β now named Pumpkin Pie β was bloody, βher frail body too scared and weak to moveβ when staff found her Tuesday, Tri-County wrote.

She was lying at the fence line and covered in infected and burst mammary tumors. Most of her teeth will likely need to be extracted and her hair was matted.
The worst part was her βshutdown spirit,β the organization wrote.
