$803M Mega Millions Winner Claimed Prize In FL: Reports

BRADENTON, FL — The winner of the $803 million jackpot in the July 28 Mega Millions drawing claimed their prize about a month after their big win, multiple reports said.

The unknown winner claimed the prize on Aug. 28, Florida Lottery told ABC 7.

The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, chose a lump-sum cash option, before taxes, of $344.2 million, WFLA reported.

Their name hasn’t been released because the winner has a right to remain anonymous on prizes of $250,000 or more for 90 days under Florida law

The July 28 drawing was the 10th largest jackpot in the game’s history.

The winning ticket matched all six numbers in the drawing - 34, 48, 49, 59 and 70, as well as the Mega Ball, 12.

The ticket was sold at a Wawa gas station at 14510 State Road 70 E. in unincorporated Manatee County, near Bradenton.

The next Mega Millions drawing takes place Friday at 11 p.m. ET with an estimated $177 million jackpot.
