Bradenton Gas Station One Of 7 Selling Bad Fuel In SWFL: Officials

Here's what to do if you gassed up at a Bradenton gas station recently impacted by fuel quality issues, FL officials said.

BRADENTON, FL — While most of the seven Circle K gas stations impacted by fuel quality issues earlier this month were in Lee County, one location was in Bradenton, the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services wrote in a social media post.

The following Circle K locations were affected, the department said:

  • 2925 1st Street E., Bradenton
  • 17170 San Carlos Blvd., Fort Myers Beach
  • 9951 Orange River Blvd., Fort Myers
  • 14362 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers
  • 9001 Rolfes Road, Fort Myers
  • 1181 Homestead Road N., Lehigh Acres
  • 11161 Tamiami Trail, Punta Gorda

Circle K temporarily halted gas sales at these locations after learning some customers who gassed up at them were experiencing car issues.

"At Circle K, we stand behind the quality of our fuels, but issues can sometimes arise. For this particular case, a fuel quality issue from a third-party supplier impacted multiple fuel retailers in the area," a spokesperson for the company told 10 Tampa Bay News. "As soon as we became aware of the situation, we suspended fuel sales at these sites while the affected storage tanks were emptied, cleaned and replenished with fresh fuel. We have resumed normal operations following the necessary testing that confirmed full remediation."

Those who believe their vehicle was damaged by fuel from one of these locations should take the following steps, state officials said:
