Cannabis Company Cutting 58 Jobs In Pinellas County

A FL-based medical cannabis company is laying off 58 workers at its Clearwater call center, according to a state WARN notice.

CLEARWATER, FL — Medical cannabis company Trulieve is cutting 58 jobs at its Clearwater call center, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification notice filed Monday with the state.

The mass layoff at the call center, which is located at 13773 Icot Blvd., building five, is caused by business restructuring, Patrick Henning, Trulieve’s executive director of human resources, said in a letter to Florida’s State Trade and Rapid Response Program.

The layoff affects nine customer service chat representatives and 49 customer service phone representatives, Henning said in the letter.

The layoffs will take effect May 1 and all employees impacted were given a written 60-day notice that their position was eliminated.

Though Trulieve was incorporated in British Columbia, the company’s corporate headquarters are in Tallahassee.

The company will operate 233 retail locations nationwide by the end of 2026, according to a news release. In Florida, there are 165 dispensaries, including a Fort Myers location that opened Jan. 26.

Trulieve reported revenue of $1.2 billion in 2025 with a reported net loss attributable to common shareholders of $116 million and an adjusted net loss of $27 million, the news release said.
