The beach at Honeymoon Island State ParkΒ may be popular with locals and tourists, but it's only so-so when it comes to water quality, according to one environmental group.
The Dunedin areaΒ beachΒ got middling marks from theΒ Natural Resources Defense Council inΒ its star ratings of 200 popular beachesΒ around the country.Β
The study, released Wednesday as part ofΒ the organization's annual beachwater quality report,Β looked at two monitoring stations on Coquina in 2012. Coquina Beach NorthΒ got two stars and Coquina Beach SouthΒ three stars out of five.

Thirteen beaches received a five-star rating; none were in Florida.
