4 New Offerings Added To Publix Deli Menus
Florida-based Publix has expanded its popular "Pub Sub" offerings with three new Texas-inspired subs, as well as a new sandwich.

LAKELAND, FL — Three new “Pub Subs,” as well as a new sandwich, have joined the prepared foods lineup at Publix grocery stores.
Calling it “a new era of flavor,” the Florida grocer has added four new brisket items — three subs and one sandwich — to its deli menu, the Lakeland-based retailer said in a news release.
The new Texas-inspired offerings, each smoked low and slow, are a stacked brisket and brioche sandwich, a spicy brisket sub, a southern-style brisket sub, and a brisket, lettuce, and tomato sub.

The launch is part of the brand’s broader deli tradition, which includes the long run of its chicken tender pub sub, one of its most popular prepared foods since its 1992 debut, according to the news release.
“For the new sandwiches, our deli team set out to create something worthy of that same devoted following — one that builds on the legacy of taste and quality customers expect from us,” the company said.

Publix Category Manager John Godke explained how brisket became the focus of the new rollout.
“As we looked for the next right protein to build on that legacy, brisket stood out,” he said. “During product testing panels, a Texas-based supplier well known for its smokehouse delivered the quality and consistency we were looking for. They helped bring this brisket experience to life.”
The stacked brisket and brioche sandwich includes a half-pound of smoked brisket and sweet-and-spicy barbecue sauce on a brioche roll, the news release said.
The spicy brisket sub includes smoked brisket, Boar’s Head three-pepper Colby Jack cheese, jalapenos, crispy publix fried onions and sweet-and-spicy barbecue sauce.
The brisket, lettuce and tomato sub includes smoked brisket, lettuce, tomatoes and sweet-and-spicy barbecue sauce.
The Southern-style brisket sub includes smoked brisket, Publix cheddar, dill pickles, crispy Publix fried onions, and sweet-and-spicy barbecue sauce.
Publix has more than 1,400 stores in eight states, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
