Motorcyclist Dies After Crash With SUV In Pasco County

A 30-year-old New Port Richey motorcyclist died after colliding with an SUV at a Pasco County intersection early Saturday.

PASCO COUNTY, FL — A 30-year-old New Port Richey motorcyclist died after colliding with an SUV in Pasco County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 2:50 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Whitetail Lane and Trouble Creek Road, police said in a news release.

Investigators said a 61-year-old New Port Richey woman driving a Kia Sorento was stopped at a stop sign on Whitetail Lane before attempting to cross Trouble Creek Road through a median opening.

As the SUV entered the intersection, it pulled into the path of a westbound Suzuki motorcycle traveling on Trouble Creek Road, troopers said.

The motorcycle struck the SUV, seriously injuring the rider. He was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.

The SUV driver was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
