Cheeseburger Sliders Chain Backed By Super Bowl Champ Opens In Tampa Area
A fast-food chain known for its cheeseburger sliders and backed by former NFL player Drew Brees, opened a Tampa-area location.
LUTZ, FL — A fast-food restaurant backed by Super Bowl champion Drew Brees has opened in Lutz, bringing its signature cheeseburger sliders, waffle fries and shakes to the area.
Smalls Sliders opened its newest location at 19081 Wingshooter Way, next to Swig, on Aug. 11, and hosted a grand opening celebration on Saturday.
The Lutz location is owned and operated by Purple Buns LLC, according to a news release.

The company, which also operates a Smalls Sliders location in Clearwater, has committed to opening at least nine locations throughout Florida.
“We're excited to continue growing the Smalls Sliders brand in the Tampa Bay area with the opening of our Lutz Can,” Vik Patel, CEO of Purple Buns, said in a statement. “Lutz is a vibrant, growing community, and we look forward to serving our guests and becoming a neighborhood destination.”

Smalls Sliders specializes in cooked-to-order cheeseburger sliders and also serves fries, shakes, queso and its signature Smauce.
The restaurant's locations are housed in bright orange shipping-container-style buildings, which the company calls “Cans.”
