Fortune 500 Company Plans Corporate Office In Ybor City

TAMPA, FL — A Fortune 500 company is coming to Tampa's Ybor City neighborhood, with plans to move into the growing Gasworx development.

Ferguson, a North American distributor of plumbing, HVAC, lighting, water and other construction-related products, will lease about 50,570 square feet in a six-story office building under construction at Gasworx, developer KETTLER said in a news release.

The company plans to begin moving into the new office in April 2027, initially bringing executive leadership and employees involved in various business functions, including training, development, and onboarding.

The lease makes the 110,000-square-foot office and retail building fully leased ahead of its scheduled December completion, according to KETTLER.

Ferguson joins Grow Financial, which previously announced plans to lease space in the building. Together, the companies are expected to bring hundreds of employees to Ybor City each day.

"We chose Tampa for its strong accessibility and connectivity to our locations across all 50 states and every province of Canada," Ferguson CEO Kevin Murphy said in a statement. "Tampa's accessibility, combined with Gasworx's variety of mixed-use amenities, aligns with how we want our associates to work, learn and connect."

Murphy said the location will also serve as a training and development hub.

"We are excited to become part of the Ybor City community and contribute to the continued growth of the district," he said.

Ferguson has about 35,000 employees at more than 1,700 locations throughout North America. The company reported $31.3 billion in sales in 2025 and joined the S&P 500 Index on Aug. 5.

The company serves residential and commercial construction professionals, offering products and services ranging from plumbing and HVAC equipment to appliances, lighting, water and wastewater solutions.

The Ferguson announcement comes as construction continues on the Gasworx district, a 50-acre mixed-use development in Ybor City.

The office building, designed by S9 Architecture and Smallwood and being built by Moss, is expected to be completed in December.

The six-story building will include rooftop and outdoor terraces, a lobby cafe and bar, and meeting and workplace spaces. It will connect with Gasworx's planned retail and dining marketplace.

The larger Gasworx development is expected to eventually include thousands of residences, office and retail space, public gathering areas, pedestrian-friendly streets and improved transit connections.

Plans also call for a new TECO Line Streetcar stop serving the development.

James Nozar, president of development at KETTLER, said Ferguson's lease reflects a broader shift among companies looking for workplaces that offer employees access to restaurants, retail and other amenities.

Gasworx is being developed through a joint venture between KETTLER, Tampa developer Darryl Shaw and strategic partner PPF Real Estate.
