NY-Based Healthcare Tech Company Opens Sales Hub In St. Pete
A NY-based healthcare technology company has opened a St. Pete office and plans to hire about 100 people from across the Tampa Bay region.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Rectangle Health has opened a new office in St. Petersburg, adding the Tampa Bay-area sales hub as the healthcare technology company expands beyond its longtime New York base.
The 12,500-square-foot facility in the Gateway area, at 100 Fountain Parkway N., will serve as its sales base and a center for engagement with healthcare providers, partners and local talent.
The office, which soft-launched in May and held its ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 8, is set to initially welcome around 40 employees, but has the capacity to expand to more than 100.

The company, founded in 1993, is headquartered in Valhalla, New York. It provides healthcare payments, compliance and patient engagement technology.
Rectangle Health also had a Las Vegas office for several years, after acquiring a company there, Jonathan Avedesian, a vice president at the company, told Patch.

In 2021, the company began considering locations for its first expansion office.
“We looked at Austin. We looked at Utah. We looked in Nashville. We looked in Raleigh, North Carolina; Charlotte, North Carolina, and then we came down to Florida, and we chose St. Petersburg because of the broader Tampa Bay market,” he said.
Avedesian added, “It offers the right combination of healthcare, tech talent, very strong universities and schools, and a really high quality of life. So as we looked at where Rectangle Health could continue scaling, St. Pete stood out as a market with experienced professionals and emerging talent. It wasn't just about opening another office; it was about investing in a market where we believe our people, our customers, and our business can continue to grow."
He also relocated his family to St. Petersburg in November from North Carolina to run the new office.
“It’s been really awesome, from a recruiting perspective, and culture-wise, it’s been even better,” Avedesian said. “There’s so much going on here and so much growth. I moved my wife and my four kids here. They love it. We love it. We live in St. Pete, right in the Old Northeast. It’s a blast.”
The company started hiring about six months before its soft launch and will continue growing its Florida team.
The company is hiring for a sales operations analyst role and is continuing to recruit sales development representatives and practice solutions consultants.
Avedesian stressed that they're looking for individuals from all backgrounds who might be a good fit for the company.
“We want folks who have experience in healthcare, experience selling healthcare technology. However, we’re also hiring folks that don’t have experience,” he said. “One of our [sales development representatives] is a former mechanic for Mercedes-Benz, and another is a former middle school English teacher, and another is a recent graduate from this past semester, and so, you know, we’re looking more at the person and not so much the experience … We encourage people who have no experience or a ton of experience to apply.”
