Tarpon Springs 4th Of July 2017 Fireworks, Picnic
The city of Tarpon Springs is gearing up for an all-day celebration on July 4.

TARPON SPRINGS, FL β Folks looking for an old fashion way to celebrate Americaβs independence may want to set a course for Tarpon Springs on July 4. The city has announced plans to host its 10th annual community picnic followed by fireworks after sunset.
The July 4 picnic gets under way at 10 a.m. July 4 at Craig Park, just off Tarpon Avenue at Springs Boulevard. The fun lasts until 2 p.m.
Attendees are asked to βbring lawn chairs and towelsβ to join their neighbors for a βtraditional old-time patriotic picnic.β

Once the picnic is over, the celebration moves to Howard Park, 1700 Sunset Drive, where fireworks will launch around 8:30 p.m.
βThe park, beach and causeway will be open for parking to view this event,β the city noted in an email to media. Parking is limited and is free after 6 p.m., the city said.

Attendees are warned to come as early as possible as the parkβs gates will close when capacity is reached. Alcohol is not allowed within the park.
The fireworks will go up from Sunset Beach, which means the beachβs north end and boat launch will be closed throughout the day on July 4. The south side of the beach and the causeway will close at 2 p.m.
