Hurricane Predictions Trimmed, But Not By Much
The National Hurricane Center issued aΒ revised outlook report for the 2013 Atlantic Hurricane Season. While forecasters anticipate a slightly less active season than thought earlier in the year, they still say thereβs a 70 percent chance for an βabove-normal seasonβ when it comes to activity levels.
As it stands now, the governmentβs forecasting agency anticipates weβll see 13 to 19 named storms; 6 to 9 hurricanes and 3 to 5 major hurricanes. This only a few less storms than predicted back in May of this year.
Remember, folks, hurricane season continues untilΒ Nov. 30, so we still have a long way to go.
