GA Pilot Killed In Plane Crash ID'ed: Reports
The single-engine plane went down in a field near a Georgia airport, killing the pilot, media reports say.
MURRAY COUNTY, GA — The pilot killed after a small plane crashed Saturday in Murray County was identified Monday, according to media reports.
Deputies responded to the crash around noon after the single-engine plane went down in a field near Dalton Municipal Airport, Local 3 News reported.
Morganton resident Dean Dale Worthingstun was identified as the pilot who died in the crash at Brown Bridge Road, the news outlet reported.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the deadly crash, WAGA-TV reported.
The cause of the crash was not released, but Worthingstun was reportedly en route to Dalton Municipal from Athens, Tennessee.

No one else was on the aircraft, WAGA-TV reported.
Murray County is located about 92 miles north of Atlanta.
