Alpharetta Students Petition Use Of Flock Cameras On Campus: Report
The students cited privacy and financial concerns in a petition to remove Flock cameras from their school campus, a media report says.
ALPHARETTA, GA — Students at an Alpharetta school are speaking out against the presence of Flock cameras on campus, a media report said Thursday.
Two 17-year-old students at Alpharetta High School started a Change.org petition to have the cameras removed from their school, WANF-TV reported. The students cited privacy and financial concerns in the petition.
The cameras are situated at school entrances, WANF-TV reported.

"The implementation of constant surveillance on students and teachers is causing significant anxiety among the school community. The feeling of being watched at all times creates an environment of distrust and unease, particularly among young individuals who are at a formative stage in their lives," read the petition.
Fulton County Schools Police Chief Mark Sulborski on Thursday told WANF-TV the cameras heighten security and support police investigations.

The Fulton County School Board reportedly green-lit use of the cameras in 2022. They were placed at 104 schools in the district, WANF-TV reported.
