Few Alpharetta Roads To Temporarily Close Due To 5K

ALPHARETTA, GA — There will be multiple road closures during the upcoming Mayor’s Corporate Challenge 5K, Alpharetta officials warned Wednesday.

City officials asked residents to plan ahead due to "rolling" closures from 5:15-8:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in downtown Alpharetta.

The event will be held to assist local and global nonprofits backed by the Alpharetta Rotary Club, city officials said.

It will feature games, food trucks, bouncy houses, business vendors, music, a Truck and Tap and activities for children, organizers said.

The festivities and vendor expo are set to start at 4 p.m. A kids fun run will follow at 6 p.m., and the 5K will kick off at 6:30 p.m.

The following areas are set to temporarily close due to the race: Park Plaza, Commerce Street, Haynes Bridge Road, Academy Street, Westside Parkway and Thompson Street.

Parking will be available in the following areas:

• City Hall Parking Deck, 2 Park Plaza
• Old Roswell Street Lot, 27 Old Roswell St.
• Milton Avenue Parking Deck, 92 Milton Ave.
• Roswell Street Lot, 45 Roswell St.
