Terra Alma announces that Hollow Oak, a locally owned bookstore, shop, and community gathering space, will open at Medley in Johns Creek on October 29, 2026. The project reflects Terra Alma’s ongoing commitment to helping women entrepreneurs bring their visions to life through strategic real estate guidance and hands-on support.

Founded by Katie Bossie, Hollow Oak is thoughtfully designed around the concept of offline living, offering a curated mix of books, stationery, art, and well-crafted goods for the home. The shop brings together a mix of timeless, tactile items - from paper goods and writing tools to candles, ceramics and tabletop pieces - alongside a carefully edited collection of books across genres.

More than a retail store, Hollow Oak will serve as a neighborhood gathering space, hosting classes and events that encourage creativity, learning and connection. From author talks to craft workshops, programming will bring people together around shared interests and a desire for in-person experiences.

"Hollow Oak is a love letter to analog living - a counterbalance to the very digital age we are living in," said Bossie. "We hope the shop will serve as a kind of sanctuary, allowing folks to get lost in the art, stories, craft and workmanship that represent the best of who we are as human beings."

Hollow Oak joins the growing lineup of retailers at Medley, a highly anticipated mixed-use destination that promises a vibrant mix of dining, shopping and community experiences.

“Medley feels very aligned with Hollow Oak,” Bossie added. “It’s not just about retail - it’s about creating a place where people want to gather and spend time. That kind of environment really supports what we’re building, which is a more intentional shopping experience and a true community."

Bossie partnered with Terra Alma early in the process after being introduced to Medley through a mentor. From initial conversations to lease execution, Terra Alma provided comprehensive support—negotiating the letter of intent, connecting her to professional services, including an accountant and an attorney and introducing her to fellow shopkeepers to better understand day-to-day operations.

“From our very first conversation, we understood Katie’s vision and knew Hollow Oak would be something special,” said Edie Weintraub, Founder and Chief Community Builder of Terra Alma. “At Terra alma, we don’t just help secure space; we help build businesses. Supporting passionate entrepreneurs like Katie and bringing meaningful, community-driven concepts to life is exactly why we do what we do.”

Bossie, who spent a decade in software sales before pursuing her dream, credits Terra Alma with helping her navigate the process strategically. “Edie was instrumental from day one,” said Bossie. “She not only helped me negotiate the deal but connected me with the right people to bring my vision to life. You can tell immediately that she genuinely cares. It’s more than just a transaction; she’s truly in your corner.”

Hollow Oak’s concept was inspired by Bossie’s desire to create a space that celebrates story, art and intentional living. “We live so much of our lives online,” Bossie added. “Hollow Oak is a place to step away from that - to rediscover the joy of a great book, the tactile comfort of well-made objects, and the satisfaction of learning something new in community with others.

“I grew up in what is now Johns Creek and have lived here for more than 30 years,” said Bossie. “To be able to bring Hollow Oak to life in my hometown, in partnership with Medley and our new Town Center, is incredibly meaningful.”
