Knife-Wielding Woman Injured In GA Police Shooting, GBI Says
Georgia authorities say the woman who ran toward deputies while holding a knife, and continuing to fight after being shot, was also tased.
CONYERS, GA — A knife-wielding woman was injured after authorities say police shot and tased her during an incident Saturday in the 3700 block of Sugar Creek Lane in Conyers.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation on Sunday said the incident happened around 7:30 p.m.
The Rockdale County Sheriff's Office arrived at a Sugar Creek home to conduct a welfare check when a 25-year-old woman exited the home with a knife in her hand, the GBI said.

She was accused of raising the knife and running toward the deputies. The GBI said the deputies shot and injured the woman before disarming her.
However, the GBI said the woman continued to fight and a deputy tased her.

The woman was taken into custody and taken to a local hospital, where she was in stable condition, the GBI said.
Once the GBI's investigation is complete, the case will be turned over to the Rockdale County District Attorney’s Office for review.
