All-Clear Given At Emory After Police Probe Near CDC
Emory University sent an alert via its safety app about a "police emergency" and asked people to avoid the area, media reports say.
EAST ATLANTA, GA — An all-clear has been given at Emory University after a police probe Friday in the area, the university tweeted.
Emory has not specified the nature of the investigation, but WANF-TV reported the university sent an alert via its safety app about a "police emergency" and stated the incident occurred at Emory Point. University officials reportedly asked people to steer clear of the area.

Emory Point is a mixed-used development near Clifton and Druid Hills roads and includes an apartment complex. It sits near the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Emory University.

The area is near where DeKalb County police officer David Rose was killed in a shooting at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in August 2025. The accused gunman fired nearly 300 rounds, with almost 200 of them hitting six of the CDC buildings, authorities said at the time.
The accused shooter, who authorities previously identified as 30-year-old Kennesaw resident Patrick Joseph White, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the scene, they said.
