Gwinnett Robbery, Battery Suspects Arrested

Two men, one facing robbery by force charges and another facing battery charges, have been arrested, Gwinnett authorities say.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — Local authorities say they have arrested two men who were at large, one accused of aggravated battery and robbery by force and another sought on aggravated assault and other charges.

- The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday said they their fugitive officers worked with Union City Police to arrest Matthew Johnson, 19, on Friday in Fulton County.

Gwinnett County Police sought Johnson in connection with the suspected aggravated battery and robbery. Authorities did not specify the full nature of the incident.

He was arrested without incident and taken to the Gwinnett County Jail, authorities said. Jail records on Wednesday showed he is being held without bond.

- The sheriff's office also said Emmanuel Dawodu was arrested on Feb. 2 during a traffic stop in Duluth.

This was after deputies found him on Georgia State University's Alpharetta campus and followed him into Gwinnett, authorities said.

Dawodu was arrested without incident on charges of aggravated assault, battery, criminal attempt to commit a felony and burglary with intent to commit a felony, authorities said. He was taken to the Gwinnett County Jail, authorities said.

There were no available jail records for Dawodu as of Wednesday.
