Another 'Heat Dome' For The Chicago Area: When To Expect The Heat

Temperatures will start to creep into the 90s after the weekend.

Another "heat dome" will bring 100 degree heat to the Midwest again next week, according to AccuWeather.

"As the heat combines with high humidity and intense July sunshine, AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures will exceed 100 degrees and reach 105-115 across many areas from the Plains to the Midwest during the first part of next week," AccuWeather reported.

AccuWeather said that Chicago may experience highs near 90 most days, "although lake breezes could occassionally provide some relief" along the lakeshore.

The National Weather Service said hot and dry conditions will return early next week. The high for Friday is 85 degrees, and 87 on Saturday and Sunday.

Temperatures look to creep into the 90s with the start of the work week, with a high of 91 on Monday and 94 on Tuesday,a ccording to the current forecast.

The weather service said there is a chance of storms on Friday, with isolated to scattered non-severe storms possible mostly near and south of the Kankakee River Valley.

After the storm chance on Friday, the foreseeable future looks dry and sunny, with no chance of rain through at least Tuesday.

FRIDAY: Partly sunny, with a high near 82. East northeast wind around 5 mph, with gusts as high as 10 mph.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. North northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 65. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

SUNDAY: Sunny, with a high near 87. Calm wind becoming east northeast around 5 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 10 mph.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 67.
