Freeze Warning Starts Off The Week Before Warm Temperatures Return To Chicago Area
Temperatures will hit 80 degrees later in the week.
The week will start off a little chilly before warmer temperatures return for the rest of the week, according to the National Weather Service.
A freeze warning was in effect until 9 a.m. Monday to start off the week, as sub-freezing temperatures as low as 26 were expected, according to the weather service.
After Monday, which has a high of 60 degrees, temperatures will warm to the 70s and even 80s, according to the current forecast. The next chance of rain comes on Tuesday night, with a chance of storms mainly near and south of Interstate 80, the weather service said.

Tuesday has a high of 78 degrees, Wednesday a high of 79 degrees, Thursday a high of 82 and Friday a high of 75 degrees.
Greater rain and storm chances will arrive with another cold front at the end of the week, the weather service said. There is a chance of storms on Thursday night and Friday.

MONDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low around 45. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. Southwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
TUESDAY NIGHT: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 53. West southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
WEDNESDAY: Sunny, with a high near 73. North wind around 5 mph becoming east southeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 10 mph.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low around 56.
THURSDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Breezy.
THURSDAY NIGHT: A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62.
FRIDAY: Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 73.
