Storm, Rain Chances Return Mid-Week For Chicago Area
Seasonable temperatures in the low 80s will also continue all week long.
"Tranquil weather" will start the work week off in the Chicago area, before storm chances return, according to the National Weather Service.
Monday and Tuesday will both be dry with seasonable temperatures in the 80s. However, shower and storm chances will return mid-week, the weather service said.
Temperatures in the 80s and upper 70s will continue through the rest of the week, but a heavy rain threat returns Wednesday. Rain and storm chances also continue on Thursday, before conditions turn dry again on Friday.

The chance for rain this week comes after some parts of the Chicago area saw 4 to 6 inches of rain on Friday and Saturday, according to weather service data.

WEDNESDAY: A slight chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 78. Southwest wind around 5 mph, with gusts as high as 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 67. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
