Warm Saturday For Chicago Area, Before Slightly Cooler Mother's Day

A warmer Saturday is expected, before temps turn slightly cooler again on Sunday and Monday, the National Weather Service shared.

First, "scattered showers will linger [Friday] south of I-80," the weather service said on its Facebook. Friday has a high of 69 degrees, with a 30 to 50 percent chance of rain.

Saturday could have a few isolated showers as well during the afternoon, but temperatures will be warm with a high of 78 degrees, according to the current forecast.

For those with plans for Mother's Day on Sunday, it should be dry, but slightly cooler than Saturday with a high of 65 degrees.

"Conditions then turn cooler again on Mother's Day through the first half of next week," the weather service said. Monday will also be dry with a high of 63 degrees.

FRIDAY: Partly sunny, with a high near 66. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low around 49. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

SATURDAY: A 20 percent chance of showers after 3 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 72. West wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT: A 10 percent chance of showers before 7 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 46. North wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 63. North northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low around 42.
