2 Shot, Gunman Killed In Officer-Involved Shooting At Restaurant: Police
One victim remains in critical condition after officers responded to reports of gunfire early Friday in Carpentersville, police said.
CARPENTERSVILLE, IL — Two people were shot and injured early Friday morning during an incident at a restaurant in Carpentersville that ended with police fatally shooting the suspected gunman, authorities said.
Officers with the Carpentersville Police Department responded at approximately 12:03 a.m. June 6 to reports of shots fired at a restaurant in the 1300 block of Kings Road, according to a news release.
According to police, the suspect shot two individuals during the incident. Both individuals were transported to a local hospital for treatment and one person remains in critical condition, while the other is listed in stable condition.

Investigators said preliminary information indicates the shooting was an isolated incident involving people who knew one another and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
When officers arrived at the scene, they observed the suspect actively shooting at another person, police said. Officers discharged their service weapons, striking the suspect.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
Under department policy, Illinois State Police will conduct an independent investigation into the officer-involved shooting.
