Teen Suffers Cardiac Arrest At H.S. Track: Authorities
The 16-year-old boy is in stable condition following the medical episode at the Huntley High School track on Monday evening, officials said.
HUNTLEY, IL — A 16-year-old man was transported to the hospital Monday evening after suffering cardiac arrest while on the school’s outdoor track, according to the Huntley Fire Protection District.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the school, located at 13719 Harmony Road, at about 7:20 p.m.
While they were enroute, they learned CPR was already underway. Dispatchers advised responding crews that a shock had been delivered by the automated external defibrillator and that the teen appeared to have regained a pulse prior to EMS arrival, according to a news release.

Huntley EMS personnel arrived within five minutes and found the student being treated by an off-duty paramedic and Huntley High School staff near the end of the track, according to the news release.
The teen was transported to Northwestern Huntley Hospital in stable condition.
