Elim Christian Services Celebrates 30 Years Of Klompen, Banket And Hutspot Saturday At Dutch Fest

CRESTWOOD, ILLINOIS—Elim Christian Services will hold its 30th Annual Dutch Festival on Saturday, Sept. 26. The Dutch Festival is being held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Elim’s main campus, 13020 S. Central Ave., Crestwood, with free admission, parking and shuttle bus service for all who attend.

Enjoy a free (donations accepted) Pannenkoek “pancake” breakfast from 7:30 to 10 a.m., followed by shopping at the farmers market and Elim’s Dutch Village shops that open at 8 a.m.

There is plenty of entertainment at this year’s Dutch Festival, including Christ Church of Oak Brook’s worship team, Midwest Dueling Pianos, Men of A-Chord, Dutch “Wooden Shoe” Dancers, Elim’s Worship Team, and reptile shows. Kids have their own special area that includes a pettng zoo, magician, train rides, pony rides and games.

The food court features traditional Dutch cuisine, including banket (pastries with almond filling), hutspot (beef and potatoes), and oliebollen (Dutch pastry), as well as American fare like pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs and more in case your kids don’t like hutspot.
