Arlington Heights Sets Memorial Day Parade, Ceremony
The parade steps off at 9:30 a.m. May 25, with a ceremony at Memorial Park scheduled for 11 a.m.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Arlington Heights has set its Memorial Day observance for Monday, May 25, with a parade beginning at 9:30 a.m. and a ceremony at 11 a.m. at Memorial Park, at Chestnut and Fremont streets.
"Arlington Remembers" signs will be passed out along the parade route by Scouts and at the Memorial Day ceremony.
Organizers are also inviting veterans to take part in the parade, regardless of where they live.
"We have many volunteer jeeps for any active duty, reservist or veteran to ride in the parade," said Greg Padovani, chairman of the Veterans Memorial Committee of Arlington Heights.

The honored guest will be Allen J. Lynch, a U.S. Army sergeant with the 1st Cavalry Division who served in the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1968 and is a Medal of Honor recipient.
For people who cannot attend in person, the Arlington Heights Memorial Library will live stream the parade as it passes the library. The stream will be available at youtube.com/@LibVlog, according to the announcement.
