Prospect High School To Host Hometown Screening Of Award-Winning Documentary

MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — An award-winning documentary centered on a Prospect High School classroom is coming back to where the story began.

“All of the Above,” created by Prospect alum Allison Walsh, will be screened at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, in the Prospect High School Theater.

The documentary follows Prospect teacher John Camardella and the school’s nationally recognized World Religions course, where students from different faith backgrounds take part in conversations designed to challenge assumptions and build understanding.

Walsh created the film after being inspired by Camardella’s classroom and the impact its discussions had on students.

Six Years In The Making

The documentary was six years in the making and has received recognition on the film festival circuit.

“All of the Above” has won honors including Best Documentary and Best Director at the Milwaukee Film Festival, Midwest Film Festival and Monmouth Film Festival, according to organizers.

The film was also selected for the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

Following the Mount Prospect screening, attendees will be able to take part in a live question-and-answer session with the filmmakers and several people featured in the documentary.

Screening Details

Doors at Prospect High School, 801 W. Kensington Road, will open at 6:30 p.m., with the screening beginning at 7 p.m.
