“Connecting technology to people and making sure that no one feels alone with a new set of hearing aids is such a wonderful opportunity,” says Erik. “Hearing care is all about the relationship between the hearing care expert and the customer.”

As a musician, Erik understands not only the importance of sound, but also the importance of communication within any community. He looks forward to helping the Aurora community reconnect with the sounds that matter most to them. Outside of the office, Erik can be found around town playing piano and violin.

At HearingLife, personalized care is at the heart of every hearing test. Getting to know each individual by listening to what sounds and interactions are important to them allows hearing care experts, like Erik, to provide solutions that fit every unique hearing loss, lifestyle and budget.

Erik’s favorite part of his job is having the opportunity to help people get back to the environments and events they have no longer participated in due to an issue with their hearing.

“I recently had a customer who wasn’t able to hear her husband’s glucose monitor,” Erik shared. “Hearing aids now allow her to take even better care of her loved one.”

Erik is passionate about keeping up with the latest trends in hearing healthcare technology. “I’m always excited to share about new devices and techniques that are helping people hear better than ever before,” he says. “There’s always something new and we always see our customers hear that much better with each new generation of technology.”

Even for those with quieter lifestyles and less desire for connectivity and high-tech features, hearing aids can open life back up.

“My great grandmother was born with single sided deafness and eventually needed a hearing aid in the other ear,” Erik shared. “Before being fit with the hearing aid, she was exhausted, frustrated and isolated at family parties. Once she started wearing it, the hearing aid significantly improved her quality of life and sense of community.”

Erik has been living in the Chicagoland area for nearly a decade and is excited to be part of the Aurora community. He regularly attends senior luncheons at the Montgomery Senior Village to get to know the community and be a comfortable, trusted resource for taking their first steps on their hearing healthcare journey.

“I’m the first point of contact for a lot of people,” Erik says. “It’s fulfilling to validate someone’s concerns with their hearing, provide a thorough explanation of the test results, share my expertise and education to recommend the best technology for their hearing loss, and deliver a thorough, on-going treatment plan – it means so much to help people and improve their quality of life.”

HearingLife of Aurora offers free hearing tests so everyone can take charge of their hearing health. If you are over the age of 60 or have any signs of hearing loss, such as trouble hearing on the telephone, turning up the TV too loud or trouble hearing in restaurants, it is recommended to get a hearing test. With over 600 locations across the U.S., HearingLife is convenient for those who travel or live in multiple cities.
