Child Bike Trailer Stuck 'Near Or Beneath' Pickup Truck Following Crash: Batavia Police

The bicyclist and child were both hospitalized for injuries that Batavia police described as non-life-threatening.

BATAVIA, IL — A child sitting in a bike trailer got trapped "near or beneath" the front of a pickup truck after a crash Tuesday evening in the 100 block of First Street, Batavia police said.

Officers were dispatched at about 5 p.m. to the collision after a black pickup truck and a bicycle pulling the child trailer collided at the intersection with South Water Street.

The child was removed from the carrier, and Batavia medics provided medical care before the child and bicyclist were taken to a local medical facility. Both were further evaluated and treated for injuries police described as non-life threatening.
