Former Batavia Chiropractor Pleads Guilty To Child Pornography Charges

BATAVIA, IL — The owner of Hanson Family Chiropractic in Batavia has pled guilty to two charges of child sexual abuse materials nearly a year after he was accused of filming at least 180 patients while they undressed at his practice, the Kane County State's Attorney's Office said.

Judge D.J. Tegeler accepted David H. Hanson's guilty plea to producing child sexual abuse material and disseminating child sexual abuse material.

The plea comes six months after a Kane County grand jury indicted the 44-year-old chiropractor of 66 counts of child sexual abuse material and 10 counts of unauthorized video recording. Sixteen of the counts charged Hanson with disseminating CSAM depicting victims from his chiropractic office, at 1928 W. Wilson St. Google lists the business as permanently closed.

Many of the victims, who were mostly female and ranged in age from children and adults, were filmed in a room used for red light or near-infrared light therapy, Patch reported. He then shared some of the videos online, prosecutors said.

Police also found Hanson, of the 1100 block of Challenge Drive in Batavia, had possessed and disseminated child sexual abuse material not connected to what he videotaped at his practice.

Hanson acted alone, the investigation found.

Hanson has been in custody at the Kane County jail since Nov. 5, 2025. His court date for sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 10.
