2024 Brother Rice High School Football Schedule Released

CHICAGO — High school football players will be taking to the gridiron as practices can officially start on Aug. 12.

A nine-game regular season, released Thursday, runs through the end of October, before culminating with the Illinois High School Association Football State Finals (November 29 to 30) at Hancock Stadium on the campus of Illinois State University in Normal. The IHSA will be celebrating its 50th state championship games.

The Illinois High School Association, in partnership with Max Preps, recently announced schedules for the varsity teams. On Chicago’s South Side, fans will especially be keeping tabs on Marist, as well as the area's Catholic high schools.

This fall, Brother Rice High School will be joined in the Chicago Catholic League/East Suburban Catholic Conference (Blue) by Mt. Carmel (Chicago), St. Ignatius (Chicago), and Loyola Academy (Wilmette).

One of the most anticipated games, the "Pulaski Road Super Bowl,” when the Brother Rice Crusaders entertain neighborhood rival Marist High School at home on Sept. 6.

Casey Quedenfeld returns as the head coach of the varsity Brother Rice Crusaders football team, which finished the 2023 season with a 5-5 overall record in the CCL/ESCC.

Locally, Brother Rice’s regular season begins at home Aug. 30 when the Crusaders entertain the Phillips Wildcats. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
