This year is Garden Center Services' 70th Anniversary! We would like to celebrate our past, present, and future together with the community that makes GCS what it is today.
Join us for cocktails, dinner, recognition awards, live music, guest speakers, and a special video presentation! Ticket sales will begin on our website in May and will close two weeks before the event. The fundraiser benefits adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Johnson Phelps VFW Auxiliary Post #5220 is having a Penny Social on Sunday, April 19th, 2026,1pm-5pm at the VFW Post- 9514 S. 52nd. Ave., Oak Lawn, IL. 60453. Come out and search for hidden Treasures on the Nickel, Dime, and Quarter Tables, and try your luck at the Raffle Table. The Kitchen will be open for Lunch.FREE ADMISSION. The event is free to park and free to enter! Attendees can participate in free raffles, interact with over 50 vendors, raffles, take part in free health screenings and bring up to 2 boxes/bags of paper for the free shredding service sponsored by State Rep Rick Ryan and Senator Bill Cunningham.

<a href="https://www.chsd218.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Community High School District 218</a> will host a meeting for parents of students with disabilities who attend private or home schools at 9 a.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2026.&nbsp; Special education staff will conduct the meeting at the D218t Administrative Center, 10701 S. Kilpatrick Ave., Oak Lawn.

Special education staff will discuss the district’s plans for providing special education services to students with disabilities who attend private schools or home schools within District 218 during the 2026-2027 school year.&nbsp; Any parent of a homeschooled student who has been or may be identified with a disability and lives in District 218 is encouraged to attend.
