Bolingbrook Police Issue 58 Citations During Distracted Driving Enforcement
April was Distracted Driving Awareness Month.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — Bolingbrook Police Department issued 58 citations for distracted driving and various other vehicle code violations during April's Distracted Driving Awareness Month enforcement campaign, the department shared in a news release.
"Distracted driving remains a serious problem, and one moment of inattention can change lives forever. High-visibility enforcement is one way we remind drivers that safe driving requires their full attention," the department's news release shares. "April may be over, but our message is not. We will continue enforcing distracted driving laws and urging motorists to put the phone away whenever they get behind the wheel."
BPD joined forces with the Illinois State Police, local law enforcement, and highway safety partners for this enforcement effort, according to the news release.
