Mary Ann Hill (nee Hutton)
Mary Ann Hill, age 62, of Joliet, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Loyola University Medical Center. She was born on April 22, 1964 in Joliet, IL, the daughter of the late Clarence and Grace (nee Fenner) Hutton. Mary Ann graduated from Joliet West High School. She was united in marriage to Gregory Hill on September 10, 1999.

Mary Ann retired from Kmart in 2016 after 20 plus years of service. Above all, she was a devoted family woman who cherished the time spent with those she loved most. She especially adored her grandchildren, whom she loved to spoil, often reminding everyone that “Nana is the boss.”Mary Ann loved the outdoors, making others laugh, and expressing her creativity through crafts. She was especially known for the grand birthday poster cards she lovingly created, making each celebration extra special. Generous and giving by nature, she would truly give the shirt off her back and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her faith was an important part of her life, and her favorite Bible verse was Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Greg; children, Adam (Felicia) Hill, and Alyssa (Justin) Latham; grandchildren, Colton and Brooklynn Hill, and Jace and Jack Latham; sisters, Sharon (the late Roy) Merkel, Delores (Jack) Bajt, and Patricia (the late James) Alsip; mother-in-law, Clara ( the late Darold) Hill; brother-in-law, Danny Hill, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Geraldine Hutton.
Visitation for Mary Ann Hill will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. in Joliet, from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for an education fund for her grandchildren.
