Suspects Fleeing Bolingbrook Police Hit Officer, Crash In Plainfield: Police

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A Bolingbrook police officer was injured and two suspects were hospitalized after authorities said the pair struck the officer with a car, fled from police and crashed into another driver in Plainfield.

According to Bolingbrook police, officers approached a car in the 1000 block of South Weber Road shortly before 8:15 p.m. on Friday to arrest two adults inside the vehicle, police said.

As an officer approached, police said the driver turned the vehicle toward the officer, accelerated and struck him before fleeing.

Officers pursued the vehicle into Plainfield, following it west on West Main Street before it crashed into another vehicle near Main and Illinois streets, police said.

Bolingbrook and Plainfield officers provided aid to the two suspects and the woman driving the other vehicle. The suspects were taken to a hospital, while the woman was treated by paramedics at the scene.

The Bolingbrook officer suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening and was treated at a hospital.

Police did not identify the suspects or say what charges they could face.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
