Buffalo Grove Police Issue 77 Citations During Seat Belt Campaign
The Memorial Day enforcement effort included 37 seat belt violations, along with distracted driving, speeding and license citations.
BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Buffalo Grove police issued 77 citations during the department’s Memorial Day “Click It or Ticket” enforcement campaign, officials announced.
The campaign focused on seat belt use during one of the busiest travel periods of the year, according to the Buffalo Grove Police Department.
“Thanks to the efforts of our officers, more drivers and passengers were reminded to buckle up, helping to prevent injuries and save lives,” Deputy Chief Tara Anderson said in a statement. “Every citation and safety check reinforces the message that seat belts work.”

Police said the campaign resulted in 77 citations, including:
- 37 seat belt violations
- 1 suspended or revoked license violation
- 3 distracted driving violations
- 4 speeding violations
The “Click It or Ticket” initiative is funded with federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
