Drunken Driver Fails To Slow Down To Avoid Crash: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter

The 68-year-old Lake Forest woman was also charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

Monica J. Sofiichuk, 38, of the 21000 block of W. Crescent Drive, Mundelein, is accused of driving on a revoked license, operating a motor vehicle when registration is suspended, and was arrested at 9:05 a.m. March 11, at Newton Drive and Prairie Lane. A court date of April 10 was assigned.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

  • Margaret A. Ramtin, 68, of the 1100 block of W. Conway Road, Lake Forest, is accused of driving under the influence, driving too fast for conditions, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 8:33 p.m. March 13, at Buffalo Grove and Half Day roads. A court date of April 8 was assigned.
  • Armando Ocampo, 19, of the 400 block of E. Circle Hill Drive, Arlington Heights, is accused of DUI, driving too fast for conditions, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, improper lane usage, and was arrested at 12:14 a.m. March 15, at Buffalo Grove and Dundee roads. A court date of April 8 was assigned.

A male stole two 12-packs of Bounty Mega paper towels, valued at $76.98, at around 4:22 p.m. March 13, at a store in the 1500 block of E. Deerfield Parkway. He was identified, issued an adjudication citation for retail theft and issued a trespass warning.
